Embarking on a new fitness journey can be challenging. It's human nature to seek convenience, often opting for the path of least resistance. Our world has increasingly embraced the idea of "effortless."
Look at all the easy in our lives.
Fast food - Cooking. What’s that? Even if we cook it usually from a pre-prepared packet
Text message - No one calls anymore
Lifts - No one takes the stairs
Coffee Machines - No French press and let it brew
Why are we chasing easy all the time? The big rewards come from doing hard things for a consistent long period.
If you are just starting out on your running or fitness journey it only takes two things.
Commitment
Consistency
Make a commitment. Making a commitment is the first step. I’m going to walk/run for 15 mins twice per week. Don’t set some unachievable goal that you can’t obtain and you end up giving up the moment you don’t reach it.
Consistency - It’s only about consistency. Think back to anything that you have achieved in life. Consistency was the key.
Commit to walking/running twice per week and stick to it. Choose a day and time that you can commit to when you will not have any else on your calendar. You will look back over a few months later and realize that you were walking for 5 minutes and running for five now you can run for 10 minutes. It takes time and commitment but change will come.
